The Institute for Social Transformation (IST) was founded in 1994 by Fr. Francesco Pierli, a Comboni missionary. The institute is domiciled in Tangaza University as one of the institutes that make up the University.

The Institute of Social Communication (ISC) originated in the School of Theology in the 1990s, where an academic program in communication was established to equip theology students with media training to communicate the Gospel effectively.

The Institute for Interreligious Dialogue and Islamic Studies (IRDIS) was founded in 2019 based on a partnership between the Missionaries of Africa (Mafr.), Tangaza University (TU) and AGIAMONDO – Civil Peace Service.

ISRF was inaugurated in August 1996. It is entrusted to the Discalced Carmelite Order to help ensure the quality and continuity of its programmes. In 2011, ISRF in collaboration with Saint Anthony of Padua Institute of Africa (SAPIA), developed a one-year certificate and a two-year diploma in Spirituality with Specialization in Franciscan Studies.

Institute of Youth Studies (IYS) is one of the Institutes within Tangaza University College. It aims at the integral education and formation of the student so that the competence and the professional qualification achieved may be placed at the service of the young and society at large. In 2013, the Institute of Youth Ministry (IYM) changed its name to the Institute of Youth Studies (IYS).
